Children Thrive! In a Loving and Nurturing Church
Nursery and Preschool -We provide quality care for our infants and our toddlers. The toddlers, those children over 12 months of age and before the age of three, are given their own classroom with a caregiver. There is also a Sunday School program for our three and four-year-olds. All of these groups meet in the lower level north wing of the building. At both the 9:00 and 11:00 services, children crib through three years old can be dropped off at their classrooms before parents go upstairs for worship. During the hymn which follows the offering, four-year-olds through fifth graders will adjourn to children's worship.Grades K through 12 -Church school will be held at 10:10 a.m. All classes are staffed by volunteers who give their time and talents to provide a positive Christian learning experience for your children. The children will be adjourned from worship after the hymn following the offering, at that time four-year-olds through fifth graders should go to Junior Church. After a brief children's worship they will be advised to attend their individual classrooms. The classrooms are dispersed throughout the building. In the upper level north wing the first through fifth graders will meet. In the lower level south wing the sixth, seventh, eighth graders and senior high meet.More about our special educational facilities - rooms set up for quality Christian Education:Adult Classes -We are attempting to offer at least one topical discussion groups and a Bible study every Sunday. Confirmation Class is a special opportunity for Ninth Grade young people to learn about and grow into a maturing faith. Our Church practices infant Baptism, when families and the congregation promise to live out their faith on behalf of a child. Confirmation is a rite of the Church when youth are able to witness to their own confirmation of that faith promised to them as children. Confirmation Classes help our young people prepare heart, mind, and spirit for that special day.Our Class meets each Sunday, usually at 4:30 PM. The class is taught by our Senior Pastor. The themes include understanding oneself as a person of God, Bible study, Prayer and Spiritual practices, Christian service, and the meaning of the Church. Each young person is also befriended by a mentor who provides support and guidance through out the youths high school years.Vacation Bible School -A formal program based on learning biblical stories using craft, drama, games, music and fun. It usually runs for five days in the summer staffed by volunteers who donate their time and talents to help this program go forward.Church Camping Programs -Our conference maintains family camps less than a day's drive away. Several times a year they offer family weekends to take advantage of these assets. In the summer, they offer weekly camps for the youth. Watch this site and the Parish Post for further information.Retreat Opportunities -Sometimes we just like to get away from it all to concentrate on our studies. Various groups offer this chance to us all over the Midwest. The Women's Fellowship offers a retreat for either an overnight and a day, or just the day if more convenient.
